Job Description
Junior Data Analyst
 
Our consultancy is looking for a highly motivated and talented Junior Data Analyst.  We are looking for peak performers who have a passion for business, a joy in solving problems and a work ethic that doesn't rest until the job is done.

Ideal candidates would possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in data analysis.  Candidates should also possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail and have experience with data in Excel.  Experience with Python is required.  Candidates must enjoy collaborative work, actively participate in the development of team presentations and engage in review of other analyst findings.  

QUALIFICATIONS
  • This role must have a bachelor’s degree in data science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience in data analysis.
  • Must have 2 years of experience in using Excel for data analysis and visualization and willingness to learn basic data science tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Python.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with industry-standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Responsible for examining data from different sources with the goal of providing insights into NHLBI (National Heart, Lund and Blood Institute), its mission, business processes and information systems.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the organization, functions, and data sources to be able to ensure analysis sources and methodologies are appropriately applied for the data need.
  • Develop clear and well-structured analytical plans.
  • Ensure data sources, assumptions, methodologies, and results visualization approaches are consistent with prior work by the OPAE.
  • Assess the validity of source data and subsequent findings.
  • Produce high quality, reliable data analysis on a variety of functional areas.
  • Explain the outcome/results by identifying trends and creating visualizations.
  • Use best practices in data analysis and visualization.
  • Present results, conclusions, and recommendations to leadership, and customize presentations to align with various audiences.
  • Document and communicate analysis results (briefings, reports, and/or backup analysis files) in a manner that clearly articulates the approach, results, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Continually assesses all current activities and proactively communicates potential issues and/or challenges.
  • May support data scientists on various projects.

COMPENSATION

This position will be paid on a W2 basis with a competitive salary and bonus and also eligibility for benefits. Benefits include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) program with a company match, plus paid vacation and sick time.
**Partial Remote Opportunity**
Weekly travel to work in our NIH client’s Bethesda, MD office.
