Quality Control Manager - Site Safety & Health Officer

Project Scope of Work

Replace the emergency power automatic transfer switchgear in buildings 1412 and 1414 at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). This position is located at Fort Detrick in Frederic, MD.

Compensation

$85,000 - $100,000

$85,000 - $100,000 yearly

• Develop and implement safety and occupational health management programs
• Conduct safety meetings and inspections, and enforce safety protocols
• Attend pre-construction conferences and review safety submittals for compliance
• Manage subcontractor safety and health compliance
• Conduct safety and health inspections and investigations, and maintain logs
• Ensure compliance with Accident Prevention Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis
• Maintain safety and health deficiency tracking system
• Organize and maintain safety documentation on the job site
• Manage subcontractor submittals and project closeout information gathering
• Update project documentation in RMS and Procore
• Perform quality control inspections and track deficiencies until completion
• Verify safety qualifications and maintain OSHA Form 300
• Monitor hazardous chemicals on-site and review material safety data sheets

• USACE CQCM certification
• OSHA 30-Hour training certificate
• First Aid/CPR certifications
• EM 385-1-1 certification
• 5 years of Quality Control experience of a progressive nature
• 5 years of Safety experience of a progressive nature
• 5 years general experience in construction management for medical facilities
• ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) preferred, not required
• Federal/DoD experience preferred
• RMS/Procore experience
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and PDF

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunities to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Conditions

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
