Production Support Lead

Summary/Objective: The Production Support will install, maintain, and remove shipboard temporary services such as ventilation for welding and confined space entry, compressed air lines for pneumatic tools, etc. responsible for the installation of plywood deck protection on ships during repairs, installing temporary firefighting systems, installing blowers and vent ducting. Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to, building containment/protective barriers with plastic, installing array covers, and assisting other trades as needed.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Identify safety risks and comply with safety procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Transporting / removing equipment from job sites.
• Building containments/protective barriers
• Install plywood deck protection.
• Assisting Production Teams running set ups and moving set-ups between work areas.
• Running ventilation, lines and leads to work area.
• Operating electric grinders, and pneumatic tools.
• Production Support Dept. Lead is responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of the trade personnel.
• Lead the Production Support Department to successfully complete assigned work within budget and on time.
• Work to ensure that the overall project adheres to schedule by integrating work efforts with other Trade Supervision.
• The planning and scheduling of work, ordering materials.

Education / Experience Required:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Understand and working knowledge of NAVSEA specifications and NAVSEA Standard items, MIL-STDs, and other marine guidelines.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Comfortable working in elevated surfaces and in enclosed areas
• Must be U.S. Person (as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR," 22 CFR 120-130)

Preferred: Previous ship repair experience is highly preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position requires 40+ hours of work per week. M-F 0600 - 1430 (or as otherwise assigned by Foreman) with pre-scheduled overtime as needed.

Work Environment: This job operates in a shipyard work environment.

Travel: This position may require the ability to travel.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be available to work at heights, confined spaces and have ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes.

May involve carrying objects that weigh up to 40 lbs., frequent stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, and walking.

• Obtaining DBIDS level security clearance.
