We are a full-service catering company. We do all types of events which keeps things very fun and interesting! We're getting ready for next wedding season, and we need to expand our team!

We are looking for a motivated Banquet Captain to join our growing team! We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and grow within the company, a team player, detail oriented, personable, and driven!

Banquet Captain Job Summary

The Banquet Captain plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of catering events for our company. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Operations Manager. This individual ensures the successful execution of catering services by supervising the servers and bartenders, overseeing logistics, and maintaining high-quality service standards. The Banquet Captain reports to the F&B Operations Manager and collaborates with various teams to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to clients.

General Job Duties

Event Coordination:

  • Plan, organize, and execute catering events in accordance with client specifications and sales team information.
  • Coordinate with clients and sales team to understand their needs, preferences, and any special requirements.
  • Ensure timely setup, service, and breakdown of catering events.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise catering staff, including servers, bartenders, and other event personnel.
  • Conduct staff training sessions to maintain high service standards and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Assign duties to catering staff based on event requirements.

Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and service to ensure they meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Address any issues or concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

Logistics and Equipment:

  • Coordinate logistics, including transportation of catering equipment, setup, packing vehicles, and breakdown.
  • Ensure that all equipment and supplies are in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to optimize transportation routes and timelines.
  • Will be required to drive catering vehicles to and from event locations.

Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and seeking feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to confirm event details, menu choices, and any other relevant information.
  • Provide recommendations for menu enhancements based on client preferences and industry trends.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of catering events, including client details, menu selections, and feedback.
  • Assist with the generation of reports on catering performance, including revenue, expenses, customer satisfaction, and team feedback.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 1 year of related experience in food, beverage, and/or hospitality
  • Must have active drives licenses.
  • Food Handlers Permit
  • MAST Permit

Skills

  • Proven experience in catering or hospitality management.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and catering industry trends.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Considerable physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Job required personnel to sit 30% of time or more.
  • Job requires personnel to stand 70% of time or more.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Ability to Commute/Relocate:

  • Reliable Commute Daily (To and From Work Locations)
  • Planning to Relocate Before Starting Work (Required)
  • Multiple Locations: Mainly Stationed at Our Mountlake Terrace Location, with Light Visits to our Lynnwood Location.

Job Type: Full-time | Hourly

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 Hourly, DOE

Salary: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week.

Schedule (Varied based on event needs):

  • 8 – 10-hour shifts
  • Weekdays and Weekends (Morning, Afternoon, Evening)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
