Overview
The Racquets Professional will assist with all Racquets activity programs, including organizing, promoting, and encouraging participation in all tennis and pickleball activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach group clinics, private lessons, team practices and camps for adult and junior programs of all levels and ages
- Remain highly organized with both lesson books and online court scheduling
- Observe any court and facilities maintenance needs, assist in general upkeep of tennis and pickleball courts, and ensure a professional, clean, and safe environment for all who use the facility
- Be prepared and knowledgeable of all facets of the racquets operations and are willing to help at the front desk as needed
- Restring and regrip rackets or a willingness to learn
- High School diploma or equivalent required: College degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience teaching tennis
- United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and/or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Certification preferred but not required:
- Pickleball Certification preferred or willingness to gain
- NTRP rating of 4.0 or higher, background as a tennis instructor or recent experience on a varsity college tennis team acceptable
- Basic Knowledge of pickleball rules, and tactics
- Ability to be on feet for up to 50% of the prescribed shift
- Ability to lift 20 pounds, able to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn for prolonged periods of time.
- The position will require working inside and outside various times of the year and may require prolonged exposure to sunlight
