Maintenance - Janitorial Specialist 

Monday – Friday from 7am to 3:30pm

Rate of pay - $18.50 an hour

The janitorial Cleaning Specialist / Maintenance is a Multi functioning position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1- Primary function is all around janitorial and facility maintenance of corporate headquarters to provide executive level cleanliness and functionality for visitors and site staff.

2- Janitorial duties to include mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning, trash collecting and disposal, rug shampooing, sink and toilet sanitizing, and upkeep of all restroom amenities.

3- Grounds and landscaping duties to include weeding, spraying, trash collecting, trimming, snow removal and salt spreading, and other on demand issues.

4- Plumbing duties to include repair and replacement of toilets, sinks, leaks, clogs, and other low-level repairs and maintenance.

5- Electrical duties to include ballast or light fixture replacement, outlet and switch replacement, restroom exhaust fan repair/replacement, and various small projects when necessary.

6- General & miscellaneous duties to include ceiling tile and lighting replacement – oftentimes on 12 foot ladders, leak assessments, and cleaning HVAC vents.

7- Responsible for ordering and stocking all cleaning supplies necessary in daily custodial duties.

8- All other facility maintenance and custodial duties to include painting, drywall repair, furniture repair/installations, various demo work, door and lock repairs, and other responsibilities assigned by manager.

9- Secondary function is to support manager and retail business, in any way necessary, at our other 19 donation and retail locations.

10- Must be able to use general power tools and cleaning equipment and maintain the department vehicle.

11- Must follow safety policies and procedures for the protection of employees, customers and company assets.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to be a self-starter. Able to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

FINGER DEXTERITY: The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands and wrists.

TALKING: Talking to others to convey information effectively. Check in and out upon each store visit, with store manager or assistant manager.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Employee is regularly required to work on light fixtures and ceiling tiles on a 12-14 foot ladder.
