Description
Forklift Catering is currently looking for experienced Event Chefs to create exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate must be a reliable team player, have excellent attention to detail and be capable of following the direction of our Executive Chef's vision for each menu to achieve a memorable event for clients and their guests.
Applicants located outside of the U.S. will not be considered.
Responsibilities
•Unload vans and set up the off-site kitchen for the event
•Prepare meals for catered events according to customer specifications
•Ensure food is prepared to the highest standard according to food safety regulations
•Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
•Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate tasks to ensure smooth and efficient event service
•Assist in cleanup of the venue, breakdown of the event, and loading the van
Qualifications
•A strong visual aesthetic
•Basic understanding of cooking and knife-handling skills
•Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures. ServSafe Certified is preferred, but not required
•Previous experience cheffing catered events preferred; but will train the right individual
•Professional communication skills are required
•Ability to take direction
•Ability to read and follow cooking and plating directions
•Ability to work in a team environment or independently
•Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
•Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
•Willingness to drive a van is preferred. Driving a van is a requirement for any Event Head Chef candidate
•There are no guaranteed shifts/hours for this position
