Automotive Paint & Body Technician - Mi Gente Auto Finance

Mei Group is looking for a full time body man who would like to join and grow with us. Repairs accident related damage to vehicles, restoring them to pre-collision condition in accordance with industry standards and factory specifications. Body man are essential to the repair process and must be able to perform quality repairs in a timely matter.

Responsibilities:

• Performs quality repairs; while keeping in mind on-time status
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
• Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment
• Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job
• Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications
• Removes upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders

Requirements:

• Attention to Detail: Having good eyes for detail is necessary when trying to get a car back to looking like new.
• Technical Skills: Auto body techs use a wide range of tools and equipment to assess and repair cars.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
• Certification in body repair preferred
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data

Physical Demands:

• Periodic lifting and carrying objects over 25 pounds
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Reaching above and below shoulder level
• Able to push materials/parts carts and push cars (with assistance)
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
• Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
• May be exposed to repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion
• Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator

Education and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to use frame machines
• Excellent problem solving skills required.
• 2+ Years of Auto body repair
• Valid body repair license/certification

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday
• Occassional Saturdays

Compensation: Starting at $20.00 (Depending on Experience)
