Xcite Automotive is hiring a Body Technician at our partner dealership in Orlando, FL!

Job Description: As a Body Technician at Xcite Automotive, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, retail-ready vehicle repairs in a fast-paced, production-driven automotive reconditioning environment. This position is primarily responsible for completing body repairs, panel replacement, vehicle disassembly and reassembly, structural and non-structural repairs, and final fit and finish.

The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive body technician with strong collision repair skills who can also perform automotive painting and refinishing. Our primary need is someone who is highly skilled in body repair, but a technician capable of handling both bodywork and paint is strongly preferred.

The Body Technician must be able to independently complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, appearance, and vehicle turnaround.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform collision repair and automotive bodywork to dealership retail-ready quality standards.
  • Diagnose and repair minor to major collision damage.
  • Perform structural and non-structural body repairs as required.
  • Remove, replace, repair, and align damaged body panels, doors, fenders, bumpers, hoods, quarter panels, and related components.
  • Perform vehicle disassembly and reassembly while properly documenting and organizing parts.
  • Perform frame and unibody repairs and measurements as required.
  • Ensure proper panel alignment, body lines, gaps, and overall fit and finish.
  • Perform body filler, sanding, priming, masking, and surface preparation.
  • Repair and prepare surfaces for refinishing.
  • Perform automotive painting and refinishing when needed, including spot repairs, blends, panel refinishing, base coat, and clear coat application.
  • Mix and match automotive paint according to color specifications and required finish standards.
  • Operate body repair and refinishing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect repairs throughout the repair process to identify imperfections and ensure quality results.
  • Perform finish correction and address body or paint defects as needed.
  • Maintain consistent production quality while meeting daily vehicle turnaround and throughput expectations.
  • Work efficiently in a high-volume, production-driven environment without sacrificing workmanship.
  • Properly clean, maintain, and organize tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate vehicle, parts, equipment, material, or workflow issues to management.
  • Assist other technicians and team members as needed to maintain production workflow.
  • Ensure completed vehicles meet company and dealership standards before moving to the next stage of the reconditioning process.

Minimum Qualifications / Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of professional automotive body repair or collision repair experience.
  • Previous experience in a dealership, collision repair facility, body shop, or automotive reconditioning center.
  • Proven ability to independently perform automotive body repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of collision repair procedures and body repair techniques.
  • Experience with panel replacement, body alignment, sanding, filling, priming, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to properly assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair procedures.
  • Experience with structural and/or non-structural collision repairs.
  • Ability to consistently meet daily production and vehicle turnaround goals without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to inspect completed repairs and identify imperfections.
  • Strong understanding of automotive repair safety procedures and proper equipment operation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Painting/refinishing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications / Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous experience working as a combo body/paint technician.
  • Ability to complete a vehicle from body repair through final paint and finish.
  • Professional automotive painting and refinishing experience.
  • Experience with frame/unibody repair and measuring systems.
  • Experience with welding and collision repair equipment.
  • Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications.
  • I-CAR, ASE, or manufacturer-specific collision repair certifications.
  • Experience with waterborne automotive paint systems.
  • Experience working in a high-volume dealership or automotive reconditioning operation.
  • Ability to assist with training or mentoring junior technicians.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple vehicles and repairs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
