Salary: $60,000 - $85,000

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for maintaining internal networks and connections to the Internet. Candidates must possess hands-on experience deploying and supporting servers, as well as experience in areas of network (switches and firewalls) administration, Exchange support, and virtualization technologies. Must have experience deploying/supporting managed switches and firewalls, and experience supporting organizations with 25 or more employees

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain servers (Domain Controllers, E-mail servers, DNS, DHCP, File, Print, Remote Desktop)
  • Installing and administering Microsoft Windows 10/11 workstations
  • Provide technology refresh (server migration, network equipment upgrades)
  • Support managed switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment
  • Install and maintain various Web servers
  • Provide networking assistance to users, including help with network connections and passwords
  • Assist with linking Web servers to database systems
  • Utilize various Web-based scripting languages to create online forms that link users to databases.
  • Manage upgrades and backups
  • Research and implement security and firewall strategies
  • Develop network, news, and host security policies
  • Manage remote client dial-in access
  • Monitor network traffic and make necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware
  • Manage set up and maintenance of intranets related to system administration functions
  • Collaborate with engineering group to allocate server resources and install new servers
  • Provide after-hours, on call technical service, as assigned
  • Up to 50 % travel may be required throughout the DMV region. Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned

 

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Desired Skills: SonicWALL firewalls; HP/Cisco switching; Veeam Backup; VoIP Solutions
  • Certifications (helpful, but not required): CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, Network+, Security+, AZ-104, AZ-600, AZ-700, AZ-800

 

Education and/or Experience:

Proven interest and aptitude in computer technology is a must; five to seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; college degree in relevant field helpful, but not required. Please be prepared to describe and elaborate on the skills and experience listed on your resume.


Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the following:

  • Advanced desktop/server troubleshooting in Windows and Mac environments
  • Experience with hands on management of Office 365 and GSuite
  • Experience migrating from Exchange to Office 365 by yourself or setting up/managing Office 365
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud services
  • Experience managing enterprise audio/visual equipment and teleconferencing
  • Experience with VOIP phone systems

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Development software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2/2019/2022, Exchange Server 2013/2016/2019, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies; and storage (SAN/NAS/DAS) and server backup technologies.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
