We are seeking a WAREHOUSE MANAGER to join our team in Louisville, KY! Our Warehouse Manager plays an essential role as they are responsible for organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse goods. They work closely with Local Dispatch to coordinate the receiving and transfer of household goods. They are our first and last line of communication with inbound and outbound drivers, providing the Operations department with vital details of shipments that may not be known otherwise.

Responsibilities for our Warehouse Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Provide training to our team as well as corrective action when warranted;
  • Champion for safety in and out of our warehouse;
  • Controls workflow;
  • Conducts Shift Meetings;
  • Schedules employees and is responsible for tracking hours;
  • Assists with claims reduction;
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and ways to improve productivity;
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

The successful candidate for this position will share the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required;
  • Minimum of 2 years shipping/receiving experience in a distribution center environment required (2 years experience with HHG preferred);
  • Ability to direct staff and manage labor productivity;
  • Material handling equipment knowledge and the ability to operate a forklift
  • Should have an understanding of computerized asset management systems, RF scanners, carrier shipping systems (e.g. Windfall system);
  • Should have the ability to work in a diversified environment;
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Have an understanding of job costing and expense control.
