POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing information technology related projects within AANP. This position will develop project plans and schedules, monitor and control projects, and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, upper management, and other members of the project team.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This position can be remote, hybrid, or in office. Our office locations are Austin, Texas National Headquarters and Washington D.C. Government Affairs (Arlington, Virginia).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

You are expected to perform the following essential responsibilities of the position with reasonable accommodation. The position may include other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Leads projects from initiation to completion using project management principles to facilitate migrations to new platforms and enhance existing ones.
  • Translates statements of work and requirements into actionable project plans to include scope, schedule, milestones, and work breakdown structure.
  • Monitors and controls projects against published project plans using control processes.
  • Facilitates meetings with stakeholders to determine business and functional requirements.
  • Provides updates to internal stakeholders in various formats such as written plans, notes, e-mails, and verbally through virtual meetings.
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues.
  • Communicates project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manages project management plans, records, and tools.
  • Coordinates resources, including internal team members, external contractors, and vendors.
  • Manages project timelines and ensures milestones are met on time.
  • Ensures adherence to project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Fosters a collaborative team environment and motivates team members to achieve project goals.
  • Conducts post-project reviews and incorporates lessons learned into future projects.
  • Creates and maintains IT project management procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, engineering technology, or related discipline with an information technology focus or related experience in a technical field.


Preferred:


  • MBA degree is desirable.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other project management certification is a plus.


Experience

Required:


  • Five or more years of experience as an IT project manager with information systems and business experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive broad-based business analysis experience.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.


Preferred:


  • Three or more years of experience with Salesforce or rated CRM software.
  • Preferred experience managing Salesforce projects and teams in a remote environment.
  • Preferred experience with CRM implementations.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Excellent ability to perform all communications in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that shows rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-organized, results-driven, and eager to handle difficult problems.


Other


  • Ability to travel to AANP Conferences when required (3-5% per year).
