Job Description

A Hawaii-based, locally-focused environmental consulting firm is seeking a full-time Civil/Environmental Engineer for its Honolulu office.

The employee must possess the necessary knowledge, education, Experience, physical abilities, and communication skills to perform the duties described below:

· Prepare technical reports and other project documents.

· Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, specifications, site-specific plans, and contract documents to detail project activities and/or specify contractor requirements.

· Provide data management, interpretation, and technical leadership.

· Assist in project management as needed.

· Assist with conducting audits of roadways and associated facilities for compliance with local and federal stormwater management requirements.

· Conduct inspections of stormwater infrastructure such as outfalls, open channels, and other drainage structures.

· Conduct water sampling (stormwater and drinking water) for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

· Provide desktop and in-situ (field) reviews of water utility assets.

· Coordinate with senior staff, regulators, and client representatives on multiple projects based in the office and field.

Skills/Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from a U.S.-accredited four-year college or university.

· Minimum of 2 years’ Experience in environmental compliance and water and stormwater design.

· Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) Certification

· Ability to manage large data sets.

· Excellent communication skills in interacting with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and the public.

· Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills.

· Ability to work independently and in a team setting, organize/manage multiple priorities, and conduct problem analysis/resolution.

· Ability to interpret civil construction design and as-built plans.

· Moderate capabilities and Experience working with various PC software applications including, but not limited to, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Civil 3D, GIS, MS Excel, MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat

· Valid driver's license, vehicle, and vehicle insurance.

Preferred Qualifications – Preference will be given to candidates possessing:

· 2-5 years’ Experience working in water and stormwater design.

· Proficient with Bluebeam Revu, Civil 3D, ArcGIS (Pro), and MS Excel.

· Experience with sampling environmental media (stormwater and drinking water preferred).

· Familiarity with potable water systems, including regulatory requirements.
