TOOL REPAIR & MAINTENANCE
- $17 to $19 Hourly
- Part-Time
Summary: Perform maintenance, diagnosis and repairs on small engines, outdoor power equipment and hand held battery and electrical powered tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential responsibilities:
- Completing diagnostics of tool to determine what repair is needed.
- Checking to make sure tool is operating properly and demonstrating its proper use (as needed). In addition to supporting customer repair needs.
- Plan daily schedule of maintenance and repairs
- Ensure tools are repaired, tested for the quality of the repair and cleaned prior to returning to the customer.
- Perform administrative functions such as contacting the customer with the estimated cost of repair prior to repairing the tool and getting payment and approval for repair.
- Provide clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment
- Conduct proper communication with other employees in regard to repairs
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Keeping of records of repairs for future reference.
- Must be able to work independently
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess at least 5 years' industry experience. Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of all tools and must effectively manage the tool parts inventory. Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
