Job Description
The Russian Speaking Activity Coordinator grant funded position will develop and facilitate remote and in-person culturally sensitive socialization programs for the Former Soviet Union (FSU) Holocaust Survivor clients. Qualified candidates must be able to speak and write fluent Russian to communicate with clients who either speak Russian or have very limited English communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in Person Centered Trauma Informed Care (PCTI) trainings.
- Create, distribute, and review surveys that solicit FSU Survivor Clients' preferences relating to social activities, preferences for book club topics and selections.
- Identify, order, and distribute Russian books to clients and conduct quarterly book club meetings.
- Develop educational and socialization activities, twice monthly, which incorporates 6 major Jewish holidays into the curriculum. Activities may include music, fine art, travel, history and/or current events.
- Create Russian language calendar, quarterly, to distribute to clients so they are aware of scheduled programs.
- Participate in supervision meetings with Supervisor, as needed.
- Excellent communication skills
- Jewish background preferred.
- Previous experience working with the geriatric population. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
