The Role You Play
The group coordinator will be charged with spearheading group activities and integrating adult consumers into groups. They will also take over other coordinating tasks such as meal planning and grocery shopping, transportation coordination, and billing for group services.
- The Day-to-Day
- Plan, coordinate, and provide group activities designed to address treatment goals while also remaining interesting to the clients
- Research, then develop or acquire psychosocial group therapy curriculum and materials
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of progress in the client’s chart
- Actively advocate for client rights and community integration
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform verbal and physical behavior management interventions when necessary, as outlined in the treatment plan
- Coordinate additional services – such as grocery, meal planning, and transportation
Who You Are
The ideal candidate should be reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated. They should also be a great coordinator – capable of bringing their own structure to a job and enforcing it. Finally, you will need great communication skills to effectively network within and outside of agency staff to meet client needs.
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or equivalent work experience
- Strong oral/written communication skills in the English language
- Basic personal computer skills
- Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
- Preferred
- Knowledge of the needs and challenges of adults who experience severe and persistent mental illness
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
