Chemical Procurement Manager Position Available

FutureFuel Chemical Company in Batesville, Arkansas, is looking for a manager for our Chemical Procurement Team. A technical degree is required. Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®) is a plus. The ideal candidate would have related experience within the chemical industry. Prior chemical purchasing experience and Transportation Industry knowledge necessary. Knowledge of extrinsic factors, including macroeconomic and chemical industry, as relates to commodities purchased is needed. Knowledge of Fats and Oils Industry is a plus. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Previous experience managing a direct procurement group is required. This position requires relocation to Batesville, Arkansas.

Responsibilities:

Manages the chemical raw material purchasing group.
Supervises and mentors the procurement and transportation professionals including oversight of:
Chemical raw material prices for potential new chemicals;
Negotiations of contracts for supply of key raw materials working with company CFO and Legal staff
Helps team navigate supply chain issues such as supplier performance, force majeure and quality issues.
Serves as subject matter expert for chemical markets.
Facilitates collaboration with suppliers and with internal stakeholders.
Uses self-management principles and knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (EFP) system to prepare, review, and track purchase orders
Analyzes purchase information to optimize chemical purchase sourcing.
Applies sound process economic analysis principles to determine value.
Uses excellent time management skills to apply appropriate attention to detail and to handle multiple issues and concerns simultaneously and regularly communicate progress to stakeholders.
Maintains awareness and ties to company quality, technology and engineering resources to collaborate and maximize value.
Uses Microsoft Office tools to evaluate vendor quotes, prepare reports and analysis of purchasing options.
