Job Description

Title: Lincoln CLC Security

Location: Lincoln Art CLC, 820 E Knapp St., 53202

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Earnings: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour (security license preferred)

A Security’s primary responsibility is to work as part of the CLC team, focusing on keeping our youth safe and secure, enforcing school behavior policies, and greeting the youth and other school visitors. As needed they will also serve as group leaders. This position is ideal if you are looking to work both directly and indirectly with our youth!

The programs run Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. It is a part-time (approximately 10-15 hours per week) positions based on the CLC school year contract and not eligible for benefits.

Main Job Responsibilities

1 .Ensure visitors are signed in and sent to the appropriate destination.

2. Be alert and prepared to report and intervene in extraordinary activity in and around the building.

3. Maintain accurate and complete records as required.

4. Model appropriate behavior at all times.

5. Manage youth behavior through positive reinforcement, redirection, and progressive discipline as per COA philosophy.

6. Deliver high quality programs that meet COA’s and the CLC’s mission, philosophy, standards and goals.

7. Attend professional development as required.

Qualifications

•High school diploma/GED and 21 years or older

•Previous security experience a plus

•Unexpired / active security license preferred.

•At least one year of experience running a structured activity for low-income, at-risk youth

•Proven conflict resolution skills, patience, positive attitude, and cultural competency

•Takes initiative and works well independently and under pressure

•Flexibility and adaptability to move between security and youth work as needed

•Philosophical compatibility with COA youth work methods and strong youth management skills

•The physical requirements are the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, run short distances, and the ability to physically engage with the youth and actively participate in programming
