Manager of Manufacturing Science & Technology

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Isaac Erickson

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Status: Full-Time

Location: DiscGenics HQ for majority of time worked due to the importance of the role and critical areas of responsibilities which impact the overall success of the business.

Summary: 

The Manager of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) will execute and oversee the process technology transfer from bench scale to commercial scale. This is accomplished by skilled execution, careful organization of individual contribution and supervision of assigned engineering team members as well as coordination with process development, analytical, validation, and quality teams

This role interacts with all levels of the organization in a collaborative and positive way with colleagues to facilitate department and organizational initiatives for cultural cohesion aligned to the DiscGenics’ Values. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Develop and organize executional timelines in sync with company objectives and timelines
Mentor and supervise the work of direct reports including their data and reports and other key deliverables
Organize and lead team meetings and represent MSAT in other cross-functional meetings
Understand and operate within existing budgets

Development of User Requirements Specifications (URS) for process equipment
Perform equipment risk assessment
Oversee equipment design qualifications
Management and coordination of process equipment and consumable vendors
Serve as a technical expert and assist with technology transfer from process development to cGMP manufacturing

Assist with or execute development and engineering runs in manufacturing
Produce design specification documents for raw materials and process consumables
Generate engineering drawings, technical reports, and other supporting documentation
Act as a technical liaison for outside functional groups and outside vendors
Process equipment training for new manufacturing staff
