Overview: The Agile Business Analyst (ABA) works collaboratively with the Agile Product Owner (PO) and Scrum Master (SM) to collect data about an organization’s operations to improve its systems and processes through the Agile Methodology. A high performing ABA on the team increases the likelihood that the resulting product meets true business needs and fits in well with the current business and technical environments.

The ideal candidate for this position is a problem solver. As an Agile Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational information challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify client requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your internal and external team to execute. The ideal ABA also has strong writing and communication skills and can build relationships with both their team members and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Elicitation, organization, translation, analysis, and prioritization of both business level and functional (technical) requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organization, interpersonal, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of the business area that the project is engaged.
  • Expertise in conceptual modeling; ability to see the big picture and envision possible solutions.
  • Outstanding verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate a team to consensus on scope, design decisions, and implementation decisions.
  • Ability to ask strong questions to help the team see areas that may lead to problems.
  • Ability to document requirements formally or informally depending on the need of the project.
  • Understanding of the agile development process.
  • Familiarity with requirements techniques such as, user stories, use cases, and informal modeling.
  • Designing potential solutions to any problems identified during the research phase.
  • Preparing and delivering a report of their findings to leadership with comprehensive risk and impact assessment.
  • Developing comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) test cases at the application and multi-application levels.
  • Work with IT and implementation team to define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements.
  • Strengthening existing departmental relationships.
  • Acts as the technical liaison between departments, vendors, and IT to ensure technical requirements are captured and met.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Travel as required

Process Improvement responsibilities:

  • Partner across internal teams and stakeholders to understand business and operational needs.
  • Identify, verify, analyze, and implement process improvement and process re-engineering opportunities.
  • Capture and document current state processes/workflows.
  • Define, document, and develop future state end-to-end processes/workflows.
  • Define standard metrics to establish baselines and measure outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of new process capabilities.
  • Perform Agile & Lean management, analytics, and measure to ensure user story's definition of done (DOD) are met and deliverables achieved.
  • Coordinate with various teams to analyze project results and performance.
  • Collaborate across team/organization to roll out new processes, procedures, and tools and support end-user adoption.
  • Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues, and deliver better value to the member.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Agile approaches preferred.
  • 0 – 12 months of experience having exposure to projects or relevant experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience with the Symitar core platform in addition to other Jack Henry products required.
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
