Customer Care Specialist

General: The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for performing all tasks relative to in-house communication and care with the patient/client and verification of third party reimbursement.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Take customer orders and answers incoming phone calls

· Maintains open communication with patients/clients and referral sources.

· Responds to patient/client questions and problems.

· Services and cares for walk-in customers.

· Sets up new patient/client files.

· Verifies private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid coverage.

· Clears previous day’s patient visits, reviews paperwork for completeness and accuracy.

· Keys direct sales invoices into the computer.

· Pulls and keys orders into the computer.

· Maintains customer files, verifying Medicaid coverage each month and following up on Medicaid Pending patients.

· Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

· Some secondary education in a healthcare related field

· Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred in healthcare related field i.e. Athletic Training, CMA

· Sales experience preferred

· Medical sales experience a plus

· Excellent communication and organization skills

· Be a 'self-starter' and a team player

· Possess basic understanding of private and government health insurance programs

· Must have a polished, professional presentation
