Polish & Inspect

General Description/Purpose:

The Polish & Inspect will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Polish & Inspect does this by inspecting/polishing and scanning furniture. The Polish & Inspect completes these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species: Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers and make grade related decisions on a daily basis based on established Stickley standards
2. Reports to their supervisor or work group leader for daily directions and promptly report any questions or problems
3. Read, comprehend, and full fill production tickets
4. Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
5. Checking productions tickets to see if production ticket matches the furniture model including stamp, date and color
6. Inspects for defects/damage, grains, colors, missed stain and missed rub areas
7. Upon completion, scan finished furniture to trim department and the furniture that needs structural re-work, sand to appropriate work area
8. Work in the safest, most efficient manner
9. Operate assigned tools such as markers, cheese clothes, steel-wool and razor blade
