Brake Press Machine Operator

AppleTree Staffing seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our client's team in southern Johnson County. If you have experience in operating brake press machinery and are passionate about precision metalwork, we want to hear from you.

The Press Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating the mechanical press line with coil handling and part transfer equipment. This candidate must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards regarding assembly and work instruction specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Set up and operate mechanical press line with coil handling equipment
• Perform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.
• Troubleshoot machines and adjusting the functions and settings of machines
• Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
• Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
• Perform operator preventative and regular maintenance on the press to ensure that their operational life is extended.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
• Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
• Participate in 6S activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical degree a plus
• 1+ years of previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior press or transfer press experience desired
• Working knowledge of mechanical press
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
