Job description:

Skilled Trades Specialists is seeking Brake Press Operators for a local Fabrication Shop.

2nd shift is 3:00 pm to 12:00 am.

Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machines to bend, form, cut and shape metal sheets according to blueprints and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating brake press/plasma/shear or similar equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with stamping press operations and the use of calipers, micrometers, milling machines, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Experience with programming press brake machines is a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools and operate overhead cranes for material handling.
- Familiarity with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
