Job description

Brake Press Operator
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join a dynamic team located in Irondale, AL. This position offers excellent growth potential, providing the opportunity to expand your knowledge of brake press operations, blueprint reading and interpretation, machine setup and tooling adjustments, precision metal forming, and quality control processes. You'll have the chance to develop valuable manufacturing and technical skills while advancing your career in a collaborative, safety-focused, and team-oriented environment.
Pay Rate
$20.00 - $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule and Hours
2nd Shift – Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Brake Press Operator Duties and Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor hydraulic and/or CNC brake press machines to bend, form, and shape metal components.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate part production.
Select and install proper tooling, dies, and machine settings based on job specifications.
Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards are met.
Inspect materials before and after forming to identify defects or inconsistencies.
Brake Press Operator Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience operating a brake press machine in a manufacturing or steel warehouse environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.
