Job description

Overview

The Brake Press Operator operates a brake press machine to bend,form, and shape metal sheets and plates. This role involves working in a manufacturingand fabrication environment. This role is critical in the metal fabricationprocess, transforming raw metal sheets into finished products through precisebending and shaping. The role requires technical skills, attention to detail,and a commitment to safety.

Location: This rolewill work from our Manufacturing Shop.

Work Hours: 7:30am -4:00pm

Responsibilities 

       Set up and operation of Hydraulic Brake Press

       Set up and operation of Shear

       Occasional operator of Saw and Iron Worker

       Cut and bend sheet steel components to shopdrawing specifications.

       Cut and bend in house parts and ensurequantities are acceptable to meet demand.

       Maintain equipment and report any issue toSupervision.

       Follow work orders and Service requisitionsand ensure components are completed for scheduled dates

       Ability to read and Interpret ShopDrawings/blueprints
Ability to calculate bend tolerances

       Measuring of parts

       Follow quality control procedures

       Check products for correct shapes, dimensionsand other specifications according to drawings.

       Read specifications or follow verbalinstructions

       Clean and lubricate equipment

       Maintain Daily Maintenance Inspection logsfor equipment

       Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

       3+ years Press Brake experience (ideal)

       Must be able or willing to learn to operate aforklift/truck.

       Brake press machine set up.

       Must pass practical shop test showing abilityto set up and operate Press Brake

       Metal fabrication experience is required.

       Safety conscience of surrounding machinery
