Accounts Payable Specialist - (30 Hours/week)

Yamaha Guitar Group is a leading manufacturer of electric guitar and bass products, consisting of the “Line 6”, “Ampeg”, “Cordoba” & “Guild” brand. We are looking for a motivated and highly technical AP Specialist to join the team!

This Role will be hybrid based from our Calabasas office and the applicant must live close enough to commute on a weekly basis.

The AP Specialist position is a hands-on position in a creative, fun and driven work environment. We expect this temporary position to be 30 hours/week with a possibility to become full time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify and enter Domestic & International vendor invoices into our accounting systems while following company’s Internal control policy and Invoice Approval matrix.
• Process various financial documents for payment, including check requests, expense reports, invoices, and credit card statements.
• Apply the correct general ledger codes (g-coding) to invoices and ensure all necessary approvals and signatures are obtained.
• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to invoices.
• Assist with month-end closing tasks, including recording accounts payable accruals.
• Process payments (checks, wires, or ACH) to vendors on a weekly basis.
• Manage the W-9 setup and completion process for new vendors to ensure proper tax withholding.
• Organize and maintain accurate internal accounts payable records.
• Provide support to other accounting departments as needed.

What you Bring to the table

Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, or a minimum of two years of college-level accounting courses with equivalent experience in accounts payable or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including general ledger, accounts payable, and month-end closing procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) for data entry, record keeping, and reporting.
• SAP knowledge (especially in the accounts payable module) a plus.
• Experience with processing month-end accruals.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with vendors and colleagues.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Eager to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities

• Salary Range is DOE $22/hr - $24/hr

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives.
