What You Will Do
As a Senior Ecologist, you'll play a pivotal role in managing our conservation projects in the Inter-Mountain West region. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the scheduling and execution of restoration site management activities, including outsourced spraying, fencing, and maintenance. You’ll also lead on-going ecological monitoring and resource inventories and support implementation of restoration projects (construction and planting).
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and execute restoration site management activities
- Coordinate with contractors and oversee their work
- Assist in field ecology duties during project implementation, including site monitoring and associated reporting
Ideal Candidates
- Can work independently, including home office space (IT equipment and support provided by the Company)
- Has field experience in general ecology, wildlife management, and aquatic ecology (wetland science, stream ecology), and expertise in botany/plant identification.
- 5 + years of experience
- Has a Bachelor’s degree in the Natural Sciences, specializing in plant science (Master’s degree preferred)
- Is proficient with MS Office suite of programs
- Has excellent communication skills, particularly technical writing
- Located in Montana, and can travel extensively within the Inter-Mountain West Region
- Has experience operating vehicles, including UTVs, towing trailers, etc.
