Job Title: Part-time Phlebotomist

Location: San Jose, CA

Hours: Monday-Friday, 4 hours/day (flexible)

Pay Rate: $27-28 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to join our team located onsite in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will be available for approximately 20 hours per week with occasional coverage needs for up to 25-30 hours per week. Under the supervision of a Licensed Phlebotomist or Licensed Medical Doctor, the Phlebotomist will perform venipuncture to obtain specimens for the Associate Sample Collection Program (ASCP). Additionally, responsibilities include documentation of daily draws using required databases, contacting internal donors, clarifying collection requests, maintaining inventory of phlebotomy supplies, and ensuring a clean and orderly work environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid phlebotomy license (CPT-1 or CPT-2)
• 1 year of lab experience/blood draw preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline preferred (a plus)
• Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
• Current certificate in adult basic life support (CPR)
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Experience and understanding of ethical and scientific quality standards for clinical research involving human subjects
• Ability to work onsite at BD San Jose campus beginning at 8:00 am
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
• Proficiency in learning and utilizing required databases and various software packages
• Proficient in reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
