A maintenance engineer is certified to perform repairs and rebuilds on specific types of equipment. Diagnose failures when equipment breaks down and help create preventive maintenance schedules. This combination of hands-on maintenance and maintenance strategy requires the Maintenance engineer to work with mechanics, maintenance manager and production schedulers to minimize downtime of plant operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support effectively trouble shooting industrial equipment i.e.: voltages 120v to 600vac and dc, plc Allen Bradley, and woods knowledge. (what is woods knowledge?)
- Knowledge of county, state, federal regulations, and OSHA requirements
- Experience with AC/DC inverters, temperature controller programming, photocells, proximity sensors and switches as well as boiler troubleshooting and repairs.
- Knowledge and understanding of manuals and schematics, welding mig and tig all materials.
- Hydraulics experience, cylinders valves and solenoids, air compressors, and general electrical controls are essential.
- Ability to diagnose and program VFD’s, Allen Bradly 525, 4 and 400.
- Provide technical in using RS-Linx and RS-Logic 500 and 5000.
- Provide technical with servo drives i.e. Troubleshoot servo drive failures.
- Ability to read ladder diagrams and schematics.
- Needs to have at least 5 years of experience working with PLC’s.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years or more in food manufacturing operations
- Effective experience in trouble shooting on industrial equipment i.e.: voltages 120v to 600vac and dc, plc Allen Bradley, and woods knowledge.
- Knowledge of county, state, federal regulations, and OSHA requirements
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to cover a shift if needed, take over the job for a mechanic.
- Skills to find a safe way to keep machinery running while waiting on parts.
- Team player, communicate with plant supervisors and managers with any issues.
- Plan and communicate any major repairs and possible cause of production downtime.
