Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our team on a contracted basis. This hybrid role will require on-site presence at our Newark, NJ site. The Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in reviewing compliance standards, identifying gaps in service, and working collaboratively with the team to ensure adherence to regulations and best practices. This position is short-term, spanning 4-6 months, and offers flexible part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review compliance standards and regulations relevant to the company's operations.
- Work closely with the Director to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of compliance-related tasks.
- Make calls and conduct outreach as needed to obtain required information.
- Develop and implement surveys to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify gaps in service delivery and develop strategies to address them in collaboration with the team.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in all interactions.
- Foster a positive team spirit and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Possess a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and ensure compliance across all activities.
- Complete tasks efficiently and accurately within designated timeframes.
- Maintain thorough documentation of compliance-related activities and outcomes.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency in addressing compliance issues and completing necessary paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Compliance) preferred.
- Previous experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and other relevant compliance standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate part-time hours and occasional on-site work.
