The Oven Assistant Lead Operator has the responsibility of planning, organizing, and directing, all processing activities conducted at the Oven in the absence of the Lead Operator.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Aware of the product scheduled to be baked for setting baking control parameters.
  • Set process controls for Oven and Proof Box to product specifications.
  • Assign Bakers to workstations. Continually monitor the quality of the product on the Proof Box plates that will receive their final shaping before going into the oven.
  • Continually monitor units that have been given their final shaping for product specifications: length, height, volume, texture, plate count, and cutting of units to specifications. Continually monitor the color of units exiting the oven for color specifications.
  • Assure Bakers have sharp blades for cutting units and disposing of blades in their proper place. Maintain an accurate count of blades issued to the oven employees. Continually communicate with Rheon Line Operator to maintain process control of the processing systems and product quality.
  • Monitor that conveyor transfer sensors are synchronized for transferring product from the transfer belt to the next transfer belt.
  • Assure that excess buildup of dough on the bridge conveyor rollers is removed as needed.
  • Assure that transfer conveyor belts are maintained free of dry dough buildup.
  • Monitor and control cooler conveyor speed to the freezer. Assure that product unit are aligned correctly on the cooling conveyor for maximum freezing.
  • Maintain the oven and proffer areas clean and safe for performing job tasks.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
  • Works to maintain and improve the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately. Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to plan, direct, organize, and coordinate daily activities at the Oven.
  • Ability to function consistently within expected standards of operation, handling multiple tasks, executing job functions with interruptions, prioritizing job tasks, and dealing effectively with challenges and employees.
  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Execute sound decisions when confronted with processing, mechanical, or personnel challenges.
  • Basic knowledge of GMP's and Lockout/Tagout Procedures. Basic effective verbal and written skills (English).
  • Basic math skills (Adding-Subtraction-Multiplication-Division). Perform well under pressure and processing time constraints.
  • Ability to be precise and clear in giving instructions and directions to subordinates.

 

Shift: 3rd shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am)

Hourly Rate: $20.16 - $21.91

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
