Molding Technician

SUMMARY:

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Manage capacity of production floor, injection molding, overmold machines, and CNC Swiss machines

· Responsible for the initial start-up and processing of all molding machines, robots and aux equipment.

· Setting machines to run automatically (lights out machines)

· Participate in the set-up and sampling of new, transferred, and modified molds.

· Train and teach machine operators on how to perform setups

· Ability to debug and take corrective action on molds and processes as necessary. Work with tooling and maintenance personnel as required.

· Obtain, issue, mix materials as needed

· Work with engineering, plant personnel, customers, and vendors in all areas of technical processing.

· Perform random inspection and in process inspection for the molded parts

· Thorough knowledge of commodity and engineering grade resins and their properties.

· Notify appropriate personnel of maintenance needs to equipment as necessary.

· Complete and maintain all required paperwork.

· Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities

· 3 years production injection molding experience

· Able to safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds.

· Walking / Standing required throughout 8-10 hour shift.

· Experience interacting with production floor personnel

· Self-starter able to work in a team environment

· Attention to detail

· Manual machining experience preferred
