Overview
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Sheeting Operator is responsible for the entire operation of the sheeter while maintaining a high level of accuracy without suffering speed loss.
Shift: 2nd
Responsibilities and Accountability
- Follow posted schedule.
- Read and review sheeting ticket.
- Locate paper rolls and stage at machine.
- Load the machine with roll stock.
- Thread the machine through rollers
- Guide paper into a slitter system
- Conduct quality control checks on final product
- Complete skid tags and place on complete skids
- Inspect sheets as they come off machine and place them into the staging area.
- Maintain the work area and machines in a clean and orderly condition Adhere to all ISO / SQF / HACCP personnel GMP practices, conduct and safety policies
- Complete all machine maintenance requirements.
Position Coverage
In the absence of Sheeting Operator due to illness, vacation, appointments or injury, the Manufacturing Manager will assign an alternate Sheeting Operator to perform the above listed position responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Highly motivated and able to push through the heavy workloads. from inputting raw materials, prepping rolls, cutting/sheeting the paper and pulling the loads out and resetting the machine.
- Needs good mechanical skills to help in troubleshooting and basic understanding of how the machine works.
- Attention to detail
- Good time management habits
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with various levels of employees up and down the chain of command
- Ability to work well with minimum supervision – self-motivated and project driven
- High school diploma (or equivalent) or 1 -2 years quality control experience
