Accounts Payable Assistant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations by accurately processing invoices, reconciling statements, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the finance department.

Responsibilities:

Assist in processing and coding invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Assist in reconciling vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assist in preparing and processing weekly check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.

Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records in the accounting system.

Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals for invoices.

Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.

Assist in implementing accounts payable processes and procedures.

Assist in generating and analyzing accounts payable reports as needed.

Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Assistant or in a similar role.

Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Proficient in using QuickBooks Desktop accounting software.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
