Responsibilities:
Clinical Expertise:
- Deliver safe, accurate, and efficient radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions and protocols.
- Possess a strong understanding of radiation oncology principles and treatment techniques (e.g., IMRT, IGRT, SBRT).
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in radiation therapy technology and procedures.
Leadership and Teamwork:
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to radiation therapists and therapy assistants.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the department.
- Motivate and inspire staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Quality and Safety:
- Implement and ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient treatment environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and serve as a role model for other staff members.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.
- Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary meetings.
Qualifications
- Must be a licensed Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy.
- Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, with 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of radiation therapy techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Commitment to patient care and quality improvement.
