Job Description

Statement of Purpose: Metro Inclusive Health, a leading health and wellness service provider in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Development and Giving. This pivotal role focuses on cultivating relationships with high-dollar donors ($5,000 or higher) and plays a crucial part in our mission to ensure healthcare inclusivity and equity. The ideal candidate will possess a proven record of accomplishment in fundraising, strong, established ties to our local communities, and a deep commitment to our values.

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic fundraising and development initiatives that meet or exceed annual organizational fundraising goals.

• Collaborate with executive team to ensure the alignment of fundraising efforts and messaging with organizational goals.

• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with regional high dollar donors including individuals, corporations, and foundations; in addition, conduct ongoing research in business, philanthropy, and related fields to identify potential donors.

• Establish and maintain a high-level yet personalized communications schedule with high dollar donors to highlight key accomplishments, milestones, and needs; Maintain and update donor database and/or CRM programs.

• Lead efforts for the development and delivery of all donor-related communications to include newsletters, social media, website content, annual appeals and online fundraising asks.

• Identify and apply for grant opportunities that support the organization’s efforts to remove barriers to care and provide safe spaces for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

• Lead the development and execution of organization’s annual fundraising event to include creating committees as needed, developing themes and sponsorship packages, securing sponsors and leading efforts to generate ticket sales as well as all logistical aspects including securing vendors, speakers, guests, awardees, managing a run of show, etc.

• Oversee annual "Pride-raiser" initiatives alongside local businesses and organizations.

• Prepare and provide data required by finance department for necessary financial reporting, ensuring all gifts are accurately entered.

• Prepare and distribute acknowledgement letters and other donor-related correspondence.

• Provide support for other activities and projects related to fundraising and marketing as needed.

Education/Professional:

• Demonstrated experience in raising over $500,000 annually for not-for-profit organizations with three or more years of experience working in development and/or communications at a nonprofit organization.

• Demonstrate a strong existing network of high dollar donors within the Tampa Bay philanthropic community.

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, non-profit management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required:

• Be passionate about the mission of Metro Inclusive Health, healthcare equity and inclusivity.

• Excellent relationship-building skills, including effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Excellent writing ability with grant writing experience (Please include a writing sample of a grant, newsletter, or appeal letter with application.)

• Be a strategic thinker with strong planning abilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• High ethical standards and commitment to transparency in fundraising.

• Resourceful in using databases and researching prospects.

• Outstanding organizational skills and initiative with strong attention to detail.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively use digital tools for efficiency and creativity.

• Proficiency in email and/or CRM platforms.

• Deep commitment to the values and mission of Metro Inclusive Health.

Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance

• Must have reliable and accessible auto vehicle.

• Must pass necessary fingerprinting, Level II background checks and employment eligibility verification through the U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system, https://e-verify.uscis.gov/emp.
