Shipping Clerk

Job Summary: As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipment of products to customers, maintaining shipping records, and coordinating with other departments to fulfill orders efficiently. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to the success of our shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, process, and fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Verify the accuracy of orders and ensure proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
• Arrange transportation with carriers and schedule pickups for outgoing shipments.
• Maintain shipping records and update inventory management systems as needed.
• Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, tracking information, and delivery schedules.
• Assist in resolving any shipping-related issues, such as damaged or missing items, shipping delays, or discrepancies in orders.
• Keep work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding shipping, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Proficiency in using shipping software and computerized inventory systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations related to shipping and inventory.
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
