What you will be doing:

·         Using your friendliest phone voice to answer calls and respond to messages

·         Talking to patients about their surgical procedures and the potential risks and benefits

·         Obtaining patient consents for their surgical procedures

·         Talking to patients to explain costs, insurance rules, and why claims are denied

·         Reviewing and organizing patient medical charts

·         Taking payments and applying them to patient accounts

·         Requesting and organizing medical clearances from the patient’s physicians

·         Scheduling surgeries with surgical facilities and hospitals

·         Coordinating patient schedules for testing and other services required to prepare the patient for surgery

·         Scheduling surgical follow-up visits

·         Be the primary point of contact for patients for any surgery related questions or concerns

·         Maintain records of cases performed

·         Maintain and coordinate physician and surgery center schedules

·         Work closely with the rest of the administrative. scheduling, clinical, and billing team.

Qualifications needed:

·         You are cool, calm, and collected under pressure

·         You've got a thick skin and don't get your feathers ruffled easily.

·         You know how to deescalate angry patients and easily empathize with their concerns.

·         You're insanely detail-oriented.

·         You're good at math.

·         You can think on your feet and come up with solutions quickly.

·         You can juggle lots of information at once.

·         You're famous for doing what you say you're going to do – no excuses!

·         Your reputation for honesty and integrity is legendary.

·         You take pride and ownership in your work – whatever you do, you do it well.

·         You have experience with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel

·         You have worked in a healthcare setting for at least 3 years

·         You will get preference if you have worked with Ophthalmology and/or Plastics before
