Construction Field Technician

Stevenson Consulting is a well-established engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspections. We are looking for a full-time entry-level CONSTRUCTION FIELD TECHNICIAN to join our Charlottesville, VA team.

Responsibilities:

• Observing and testing samples of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt on client’s job sites
• Preparing daily field reports for management review
• Assisting with laboratory testing and other assigned tasks as needed
• Daily interaction with clients and team members
• Other responsibilities as assigned 
• This position may require some day travel 

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience in construction industry
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and team lift 70 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to use electronic devices
• Willingness to work off-shift hours, including some weekends
• Willingness to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving history
• Must pass background screen and drug screening

Desired:

• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector or ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
• ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
• ACI Concrete Field Grade I
• Nuclear Safety
• VDOT Soils and Aggregate
• VDOT Asphalt Level I & II
