Job description

Legacy Engineering is a woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections, land surveying, planning consulting, and environmental services. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth and beyond
The Construction Engineering Manager serves as the senior technical resource for Legacy's geotechnical and construction services division. This role provides engineering support throughout construction, develops structural and retaining wall solutions, assists project teams with complex field issues, and serves as a technical mentor for engineers and inspectors.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design retaining walls and miscellaneous structural elements.
  • Provide engineering support during construction.
  • Solve complex field and construction-related issues.
  • Review field reports and engineering recommendations.
  • Mentor engineers and field personnel.
  • Assist with proposal preparation and project scoping.
  • Participate in client meetings and contractor coordination.
  • Review technical deliverables for quality and accuracy.
  • Support business development efforts.
  • Assist in developing engineering standards and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge, Expertise
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of experience in geotechnical, structural, or construction engineering.
  • Experience designing retaining walls and shallow/deep foundations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to make sound engineering decisions in fast-paced construction environments.

Compensation for this position is $110,000 to $150,000/Annually, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description.
