Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Sr. IT Technician for our client.

This is a fully onsite opportunity to work alongside the federal government.

Primary Duties:
  • Provides high-level information technology (IT) and educational technology (ET) support for Faculty IT (FIT) Mission, located at the client site.
  • Reports to the FIT Project Manager/Team Lead as the single point of contact for the Dean of Faculty (DF) IT support.
  • Receives trouble calls over the phone, walk-ins, and by email and assigns Cherwell/CIPS tickets to the applicable work center across multiple networks.
  • Must possess a good understanding of Windows 10/11 along with computer network architecture and overall function as it relates to academic software usage.
  • Performs troubleshooting of hardware and software technologies related to academic software support and functionality.
  • Researches and assists DF personnel with academic software requirements as required.

Secondary Duties:
  • Provides support as the Communications Requirements Officer (CRO) and serves as the focal point for all communication requirements for the DF faculty.
  • Validates all IT requirements and coordinates with appropriate Dean of Faculty stakeholders.
  • The CRO must maintain education and training requirements as outlined in AFMAN 17-1303, Cybersecurity Workforce Improvement Program paragraph 3.2.
  • Creates tickets and coordinates on all open/unresolved communication requirement requests including but not limited to telephone port activations, voicemail box resets, telecommunications infrastructure changes, and other telecom-related issues.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information.
  • Pass on feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Five years of military/non-military equivalent communications technical experience in IT Admin or information technology.
  • A SECRET security clearance.
  • CompTIA SEC+ certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Windows Server administration and maintenance including Active Directory and Group Policy is a plus.
  • Experience in a network administrator role with knowledge of group policies and associated effects on software utilization is a plus.

Education:
  • An associate's degree or equivalent experience in a communications-related career field is preferred.
