IT Data Analyst

Garrett Popcorn Shops is looking for a motivated Data Analyst with development experience who will be responsible for collecting and processing large datasets to extract valuable insights that can help inform business decisions. They also will be involved in various development projects with our internal software engineer. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Technology. The role involves working with various stakeholders across the organization to identify key business questions, develop hypotheses, and design experiments or models to test them.

Responsibilities:

· Collecting and processing large datasets from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and web analytics tools.

· Cleaning and transforming data to ensure accuracy and consistency, also identifying and correcting errors, or missing values.

· Performing exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and outliers in the data, and summarizing findings in clear and concise reports.

· Creation of custom scripts, tools, and software applications to automate data processing, analysis, and reporting.

· Designing and implementing experiments or models to test hypotheses and evaluate the effectiveness of business strategies or initiatives.

· Developing dashboards and visualizations to communicate data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

· Manage databases and data warehouses in the company cloud. Ability to deploy various databases in Azure as well as data warehouses when necessary.

· Collaborating with other members of the team, such as data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to ensure data integrity and consistency across different systems and platforms.

· Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, and continually improving skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

· Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R, and familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as Excel or SPSS.

· Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI & Tableau.

· Ability to design, develop, and maintain custom scripts, applications, and tools to automate data processing and analysis workflows.

· Familiarity with software development tools and frameworks.

· Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets.

· Experience with data integration and manipulation, including working with APIs, web scraping, and ETL processes.

· Experience with AzureSQL, Azure Data Warehouses, and Azure Synapse a plus.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to present findings to a non-technical audience.

· Attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors in data.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
