Freelance Production Designer

WC+A is looking for a freelance Production Designer to assist our dedicated and efficient Production team. This Production Designer will primarily work on adapting art to different streaming formats. However, other duties like typesetting, localization, and organizing assets for delivery are to be expected as well.

This is a fully remote freelance position that will start off with a 2-week assignment. However, there is a high possibility of extension following successful performance.

• Assist team in producing digital assets for on-service or marketing requests (including retouching or image compression across multiple platforms)
• Review requests/tasks, navigate complex templates/specifications of a project, ask questions, review your work, and deliver on time/on spec
• Hands-on adaptive design experience, including extending artwork
• Maintain the integrity of a project’s strategy and design during production
• Update assets accurately and review your work before sending it through quality assurance
• Ensure all inconsistencies and mistakes are corrected in art files before release, including typesetting revisions, scaling artwork, photo retouching, correcting vector artwork, color corrections/adjustments, and page sequence/imposition revisions
• Create images using compositing, masking, light retouching, and detail work
• Catalog and organize project files (working and final) for future reference and retrieval
• Help prep, proof, and provide final signed-off assets, ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency
• Other duties as assigned

• A solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat. Short-cuts key commands are a must
• Very comfortable with all Google Workspace programs (Gmail, Drive, Meet, etc.)
• Management software experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented, has good follow-through, can multitask, and works well under tight deadlines
• Aptitude with managing different projects in parallel
• Ability to approach a problem from multiple viewpoints
• Ability to work through problems with a team that values collaboration and feedback 
• Ability to think beyond the task at hand and identify blockers and improvements

Compensation Expectations:

The starting base compensation range for this position in the selected city is $35-$50 hourly. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s certifications, location, prior experience, and qualifications.
