Brand My Bags is looking to expand by adding a new role for a Director of Operations ready to grow a company with a proven track record, a focus on quality, a growing customer base, state-of-the-art equipment, and a phenomenal staff. Brand My Bags places extreme emphasis on ensuring customer needs are met, preferably exceeded, and has invested in only the best accordingly.

Brand My Bags is a custom brand packaging company servicing a multitude of industries. We help our partners stand out from the crowd with eye-catching, full-color print designs on quality, compliant packaging. We specialize in Mylar bag packaging, fully printed stand up pouches, and lay flat pouches. We can also custom brand a variety of different containers, including pop top vials and glass.

As the Director of Operations for Brand My Bags, you will be focused on identifying opportunities for improvement to hit key company objectives. You will be empowered to make data driven decisions to increase throughput, reduce expenses, and increase production stability and reliability. Most importantly, you will be tasked with achieving the lowest turnaround time possible while maintaining strict quality and customer service requirements. You will oversee and manage a proven team of 8-12 across multiple shifts with support to grow and retain the talent.

This position is ideal for an experienced operations leader with an entrepreneurial mindset that looks forward to identifying problems, crafting solutions, and implementing the solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Take a hands-on approach to understanding the end-to-end movement from sales to production to fulfillment, acting as a catalyst for improving turnaround times and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze performance data for the purpose of driving key decisions around service, operations, and logistics.
  • Ensure quality and service standards are met and exceeded through the establishment of standards, statistical methods, good communication, follow-up, and proper training.
  • Manage and direct production team currently operating on multiple shifts.
  • Communicate, coach and train staff on operational policies and expectations.
  • Provide the leadership to develop teamwork among team members to allow them to continually improve processes and products.
  • Facilitate leadership development in production.
  • Take initiative to offer operational assistance to cross functional team members such as sales and pre-prep to identify and propose cohesive improvements.
  • Promote continuous leading edge or state of the art printing and graphics technical improvements.
  • Maintain a high level of safety ensuring equipment and facilities and procedures are in proper condition.
  • Manage raw material inventory to meet production schedule.
  • Respond with the appropriate level of urgency as situations warrant.
  • Regular reporting to stakeholders on all operations deliverables including the creation and standardization of all reports.
  • Tasks and responsibilities as directed by stakeholders and management.
  • Analyze costing reports for accuracy and use the matrix to measure efficiency within the production process.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of operations experience in a leadership position of at least 4 direct reports.
  • BS/BA degree required preferably in an Engineering/ Manufacturing and or Management Discipline.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and direct subordinates and report to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word & Acrobat
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to fulfill occasional late nights and/or weekend work.
  • Experience in print production is a major plus, but not required.
  • Proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrate strong supervisory and project management experience.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, for up to 2 hours continuously.
  • Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Extensive sitting and computer use.
