Job Description-Lab Technician/Chemist II (4643)

Basic Purpose
The Lab Technician/Chemist II is a someone that has a few years experience analyzing samples of raw materials, intermediates, and final products to ensure that the plant is producing products that meet our internal and external specifications. The lab technician maintains the retain samples and the analysis data for raw materials. Assist with day-to-day activities of the analytical laboratory and be able to work independently to compete task.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks in accordance with OSHA regulations and company-specific health, safety, and environmental rules
• Conduct timely and accurate routine testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and final product samples according to established procedures
• Accurately enter data and file paperwork related to lab activities
• QC Reports
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments
• Apply technical skills to engineer methods of analysis for unique sample types
• Provide insight into results and write reports explaining findings
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Performing other non-routine tasks as designated by the Lab Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education/Training/Work Experience

• BS degree in Chemistry or Biology (other science degrees will be considered); 2-5 years industrial experience with experience in listed instruments preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic Math skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Team oriented

Equipment and Applications

• GCMS, ICPMS, HR-ICPMS, FTIR, TXRF, IC, TOC
• Basic Computer skills using Microsoft Excel and Word

Salary: $23+/hr (Please include salary requirements with resume)
