We are looking for a proactive, independent and experienced bookkeeper with excellent proven record of working with startups, small and/or large corporations with outstanding bookkeeping/accounting skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Establishing different accounts
- Maintain financials books in order while able to categorize and understand loans payable, interest expenses, grants, contracts, account payable purchasing, etc.
- Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying
- Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
- Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts
- Maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying and allocating transactions
- Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Maintaining a balanced general ledger
- Preparing a trial balance for the accountants
- Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing accounting for information
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements
- Monitoring for variances from the projected budget
- Advising management on compliance needs
- Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices
- Manage all accounting transaction
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements in time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Report on the companys financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
- CPA is desirable
- Bookkeeping experience required, accounting experience preferred
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Experienced in Construction, federal, government contracts (desired)
- Strong attention to detail, quality and good analytical skills
