(MTA) CAD Drafter

Job Description:

As a Junior CAD Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the CAD team in creating and maintaining accurate and detailed drawings using MicroStation software. This role specifically focuses on projects related to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) or other relevant transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design:

  • Utilize MicroStation software to create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings in accordance with project specifications and standards.

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to incorporate design changes and updates.

• Project Coordination:

  • Work closely with the CAD Manager and project managers to understand project requirements and timelines.

  • Ensure drawings meet quality and project standards set by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

• Document Management:

  • Organize and maintain drawing files and project documentation in accordance with company and client standards.

  • Assist in the preparation of drawing sets for internal and external reviews.

• Quality Assurance:

  • Perform regular checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to drafting standards.

  • Address and resolve discrepancies or issues identified during the review process.

• Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.

  • Provide timely updates on project progress and address any challenges encountered.

• Training and Development:

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CAD technology.

  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to MicroStation and transportation projects.

Qualifications:

• Educational background in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, or a related field.

• Proficiency in MicroStation software is essential.

• Knowledge of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) or experience with transportation-related projects is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• familiar with setting up workspaces and work sets using ProjectWise.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
