Job Description

Hunton Trane, a division of the Hunton Group in Houston, TX (www.huntongroup.com), is seeking to hire a detail-oriented Inside Engineer Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with Project Coordinators, and will be responsible for routine project documentation, procurement, job costing, customer invoicing, and administrative closeout of each project. Selected individual will also be required to closely interact with internal and external customers to ensure the timely completion of each project and to foster a positive culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow established standard workflow, utilizing several enterprise systems.
  • Process the transition of projects from Sales to Operations within enterprise business systems.
  • Attend project turnover meetings, act as scribe, and disseminate meeting minutes to all parties in attendance.
  • Review scope of work and collaborate with customers to establish project tasks, schedule requirements, communications for project progress.
  • Administer projects throughout entire life cycle to ensure contract compliance and successful delivery. This includes coordination with regional leadership, contract management, legal, and financial services.
  • Manage procurement processes per project requirements. With guidance from Project Coordinator and/or Sales Engineer, handle material ordering/tracking, issue purchase orders and subcontracts to qualified vendors.
  • Successfully navigate all relevant software leading to the generation of equipment selections & submittals for material procurement.
  • Coordinate monthly customer invoicing process per customer requirements and Project Coordinator direction to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Coordinate with project team members for accurate and timely recording of project costs, including time sheets, vendor invoices, etc.
  • Facilitate the setup of new vendors and subcontractors via standard accounting and safety procedures.
  • Attend weekly manpower meetings, and assist Project Coordinators with scheduling and dissemination of information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Texas driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environments.
  • Ability to manage details to specifications for each individual project.
  • Ability to work at office location 5 days per week, 40 hours per week with overtime as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED and up to two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks such as problem solving, decision making, rational thinking, and exercising good judgement.
  • Experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience with financial systems and basic accounting, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, an asset.
  • Construction law and regulation knowledge is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems preferred, not required.
