Operations Agent

Full-time Operations Agent at award winning Rock-it Cargo, the premiere freight forwarder for all live events. Primary duties for this position include but not limited to assisting the operations department in bookings for domestic and international freight forwarding as well as preparing the appropriate documentation for these shipments.

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

Location: Roselle, IL 60172 (ORD)

Experience: 1-3 years preferred

Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour / commensurate with experience

Rock-it Cargo is looking to add a new member to the family at their ORD location. Essential Duties:

Primary duties for this position include but not limited to assisting the operations department in bookings for domestic and international freight forwarding as well as preparing the appropriate documentation for these shipments.

• Arrange domestic and international import/export shipments via air, trucking and ocean
• Assist operations department in bookings and documentation
• Maintain and cultivate customer and vendor relationships
• Follow-up with shippers and consignees to ensure quality and timeliness of shipments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic freight forwarder knowledge
• Ability to learn software programs quickly and adeptly
• Solid customer service skills
• Sharp organizational along with attention to detail and prioritization skills
• MS Outlook, Word, Excel
• Strong ability to handle time-sensitive issues
• Teamwork oriented

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• Pass a security background check
• Administrative/Operations/Logistics experience (1-3 years desired)
• Must possess valid identification, preferably a valid driver’s license
